Essential Grid

Highend bundles Essential Grid for demos that use it, and imports its grids automatically with the demo.

Essential Grid is a bundled, premium grid and gallery builder. Not every demo uses it, but the ones built around a portfolio or photography layout (Photography, Presentation, Simple Blog, Minimal, and Jasper) do.

Where to find it: Go to HighendInstall Plugins to install it.

Included with Highend and updated through Highend

Essential Grid is a premium plugin included with your Highend license. You don't need a separate license for it. It's downloaded from HB-Themes' own repository, not WordPress.org, and installing or updating it just needs your Highend license to be active. See Install plugins and Theme License. Buying a license directly from a plugin's developer is optional: it only unlocks extras such as the plugin's own template library. Update it from Highend's Install Plugins screen, not the regular WordPress "Plugins" update list.

What Highend's integration does

Once Essential Grid is active, Highend tells it it's bundled with a theme (the same handshake WPBakery and the sliders get) and removes its activation notice from the Plugins list screen. Beyond that, Highend doesn't add its own element or shortcode for Essential Grid: you build and style grids entirely in Essential Grid's own admin screens, then place them with the plugin's own WPBakery element or its [ess_grid alias="..."] shortcode.

Grids import with the demo

If you import a demo that uses Essential Grid, its grids, skins, navigation skins, custom meta fields, and custom fonts import automatically as part of the demo import, so you don't need to rebuild them by hand. Re-importing overwrites a grid or skin that shares an ID with one already on your site, instead of duplicating it.

Not every demo has grids to import

Check a demo's required plugins on the Import a demo screen before importing. If Essential Grid isn't listed, there's nothing for this step to import.
