Requirements

What your server and WordPress install need before you install Highend.

Highend doesn't enforce a minimum WordPress or PHP version in code. It doesn't block activation on an older stack. In practice, run a current, supported version of both so the theme, WPBakery, and the bundled plugins all behave as expected.

WordPress and PHP

Follow WordPress.org's official server requirements for the currently supported WordPress and PHP versions, and MySQL or MariaDB. Highend is a standard WordPress theme on top of that stack. It doesn't need anything beyond what WordPress itself requires.

PHP limits for demo import

Importing a prebuilt website (see Import a demo) downloads and installs pages, media, and settings in one operation. Highend automatically raises the PHP time limit and memory limit for the duration of the import, but some hosts cap these regardless of what the theme requests. If an import stalls or times out, the importer tells you to check your host's PHP limits. Ask your host to raise max_execution_time and memory_limit if you hit this, particularly on shared hosting.

What else you'll need

  • WPBakery Page Builder: required for Highend's elements and demo layouts. It's bundled with the theme and installed from HighendInstall Plugins, but installing it needs an active license. See Theme license and Install plugins.
  • A Highend license: needed to install WPBakery and the other premium plugins, to import demos, and to receive theme updates. See Theme license.
